Wow. I’ve gotten a lot of emails via my contact form asking for more details on my acne scar cure. Don’t worry, I’m busy writing up my search and reviews of the products I’ve tried and will post it shortly. I’m not much of a writing, and my girls take up a lot of my time.
Until then, I’m going to share this article on general tips to get rid of acne. Hope it helps.
How To Get Rid Of Acne – 7 Tips For Success
Let’s face it. Zits are a royal pain. It seems like discovering how to get rid of acne is a never ending battle. There is no single solution that will give every person a perfect, clear complexion. Don’t lose hope though. Here are 7 tips that may prove to work for you.
The key to finding a treatment that works for you is to focus on treatments that will rid your skin of acne causing bacteria. Start by washing your face two times a day, every day. Make sure you use a clean wash cloth with warm water and a mild soap. Do not scrub your face. Instead, wash gently.
Avoid touching your face with your hands. Also try to keep your hair off your face. Your fingers and hair both contain oil that may cause unnecessary outbreaks. If you wear makeup, look to purchase oil free makeup.
When looking into how to get rid of acne, women may find birth control pills beneficial. When your hormones are highly active, your chances of developing acne are increased. Birth control pills help your hormones become more stabilized and lessen the possibility of an acne attack.
If these solutions don’t work for you, the next step is to purchase anti-acne medication from your local pharmacy or supermarket. You will often find these over the counter medications referred to as benzoyl peroxide. Use as directed. Failure to do so may result in increased skin irritation which will increase the healing time.
The final progression in demolishing acne is to visit a dermatologist. When home remedies and over the counter solutions aren’t working for you, it’s possible that prescribed medications like Accutane may be necessary. Many prescribed medications come with side affects like changes of mood or sudden bleeding of the nose. Many of these medications will also require constant monitoring by your dermatologist. Other doctor prescribed solutions may also include oral antibiotics which kill trapped bacteria in your skin.
As you can see, when it comes to determining how to get rid of acne, there are a wide variety of solutions. Different solutions work for different people. It’s impossible to say that one single solution will work for everybody. Every individual’s case of acne will be different. The key is to start with the simplest solutions and when you find something that works, stick with it.
My Search For An Acne Scar Cure

Like I said, my search for an acne scar cure began about 3 years ago after my eldest daughter asked me again what was wrong with my face, but my story begins way before that.
Since 8th grade, I’d had trouble with pimples and had been called the usual names like “pizza face”, “crater face” and a lot more that I’ve been trying to forget. I’d also tried just about every acne treatment I could find with little to moderate success. During high school and college I slopped so many different acne creams and ointments on my skin I turned it into a science experiment at times. I tried many different acne clearing diets and forced my momma down to Walgreens every week for something new.
My doctors have suggested everything from Accutane, Antibiotics, Zenmed, Oratin, Benezoyl peroxide to reflexology but nothing helped.
Once I graduated college, I figured I’d be safe but then came the adult acne. My husband was patient but I know it was difficult for him to kiss me due to the pimples sometimes. When I was pregnant with my first child things were really bad. My hormones went crazy and every day it seemed to get worse and worse.
I really wanted to be like everyone else, to have clear skin and get rid of my blackheads. As an accountant, I was used to using the Internet to find information regarding new tax regulations and other boring stuff and it suddenly occurred to me to search for acne treatments and acne remedies online.
I got myself the first internet connection I could find and went in search of salvation. Most importantly I found out I wasn’t alone. There were a LOT of people on the internet who suffered from the same oily skin, frequent breakouts and nasty pimples that I did!
I also found the snake oil salesmen and bought a lot of their products before I knew better. My UPS driver at the office wondered why I was getting so many personal deliveries. Even though the prescriptions didn’t work, some of the diets were downright strange and some of the creams made my face hurt, I knew there had to be an acne cure out there for me.
I began to narrow down the type of solution I was looking for. With children in my house, it had to be cheap, natural and not just a cream I put on the pimples and blackheads when they arrived.
I wasn’t looking for a miracle, just a solution to my acne problem that didn’t just treat a breakout, but was a holistic, natural acne solution to reduce breakouts and clear up my existing scarring.
Eventually I found it.
